Right, so the domestic football season may be done and dusted but the main event for 2016 is just about to start as France host Euro 2016.

I’m an absolute stickler for stats and literally have OptaJoe notifications straight to my phone so I don’t actually miss one. Sad.

What surprised me is when I found out that a quarter of the 552 players going to Euro 2016 play in the English Football Leagues!

Not only that but there are more than double the number of players going to Euro 2016 from the English League than from the German League. Nearly 4 times as many English Football League players will compete in Euro 2016 than players from the Spanish La Liga.

Grosvenor Casinos have analysed all the players competing in the 2016 European championship to find out which country’s Premier League is the most sort after by players in Europe. They have visualised the data on a stunning interactive map.

I’ve got my money on Germany to take the crown again, but I’ve also put a cheeky bet on England and Belgium too. What bets have you got on?
